I actually had fun playing around with the powerpoint program. Once I figured out some of the slideshow effects (accidently), I was humming. I know that sound can be added, but I just haven't figured out how to do that yet. Perhaps someone could point me to the right direction.

Do you have a button in your menu above that says INSERT you should be able to scroll down to insert movie/sound. You can pull the sound off clip art. I'm not sure if this will help as I have a Dell, but this is how I did it. Good luck!
